Position Overview:

We are seeking highly motivated and dependable Drone Pilots to join our 2025 seasonal team. As a drone pilot with Taranis, you will be responsible for capturing high-resolution imagery of agricultural fields using DJI M300RTK drones and uploading this data to support agronomic analysis. This is a full-time seasonal role during the peak growing season, from late spring through early fall.

Key Responsibilities:

Fly assigned missions over agricultural fields as scheduled in Taranis’ flight planning platform “Capitan”
Ensure all scheduled acres are flown on time, prioritizing efficiency and data quality
Follow Taranis flight protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field operations and data capture
Upload imagery and flight data by 9:00 PM each night, ensuring uploads are complete by 4:00 AM before the next day’s flights
Report to training locations when required for onboarding or mid-season refreshers
Maintain clear and prompt communication through Discord, Taranis’ official communication platform
Monitor and update firmware as directed via Discord’s firmware update channel
Properly report any drone incidents, equipment damage, or upload validation issues
Utilize Cockpit and Capitan apps efficiently, with support channels available for technical troubleshooting

Equipment Provided by Taranis:

(2) DJI M300RTK Drones (main & a spare)
(4) Battery cases (2 per drone)
Landing pad

Required Equipment (Provided by the Pilot):

Windows 10/11 laptop (Macs not supported) with the following minimum specs:
Intel i5/i7/i9 processor16GB RAM
512GB SSD (minimum recommended)
Gen 5 Wi-Fi card (minimum; Gen 6 preferred)
SD or Micro SD card reader
Internet upload speed of at least 10 Mbps (in-field uploading via hotspot or Starlink is a plus)

Work Schedule:

Full-time seasonal position
5–6 days per week
Part-time seasonal position
3-4 days per week
Must be available throughout the peak season (late spring to early fall)Must be flexible to travel and adjust schedules based on weather and field readiness

Communication Platform:

All official operations and communication will take place on Taranis’ Discord Server, which includes:

Announcements & updates
Support channels for Cockpit & Capitan
Firmware alerts
Upload and validation support
Drone incident reporting
Peer tips and seasonal operations knowledge base

Ideal Candidate:

FAA Part 107 Certified
Experienced with DJI enterprise drones (M300RTK or M30)
Familiar with precision agriculture or geospatial mapping (preferred)
Technically proficient and comfortable troubleshooting drone or app issues
Reliable, communicative, and proactive under tight deadlines
