Overview:
Orange County Public Works is hiring a Drone Team Supervisor to lead its Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) operations. This role oversees a team collecting geospatial data for infrastructure, environmental, and safety projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise drone and GIS staff
- Plan and manage drone operations
- Ensure data quality and safety compliance
- Produce maps, reports, and 3D models
- Lead complex GIS and UAS projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in GIS, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years GIS experience (1+ year in a lead/supervisory role)
- 5+ years professional drone (UAV/UAS) experience strongly preferred
Skills Needed:
- Drone photogrammetry, LiDAR, multispectral imaging
- GIS software: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Programming: Python, JavaScript, AutoLISP, .NET
- Experience with surveying, 3D geospatial data, and GNSS devices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Type:
🟢 Specialist / Supervisor (not pilot-only)
Salary:
Competitive + 4% raise scheduled for June 2025
