Job Title: Drone Pilot – Agricultural Operations
Pay: $17/hour + performance-based bonuses
Start Date: April–May 2026
Location: Northeast Texas / Southwest Arkansas area (travel to job sites required)
About the Role
SkyTech is seeking a motivated Drone Pilot to join our team for the 2026 season. You’ll operate advanced agricultural drones to complete fieldwork across farms and ranches. This is a hands-on, outdoor position where you’ll spend most of the day on-site in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate large drones safely and efficiently.
- Follow flight plans and job specifications for each project.
- Perform pre-flight inspections, maintenance checks, and basic troubleshooting.
- Accurately record operations and flight logs.
- Work with the SkyTech team and customers to ensure each job is completed to spec.
- Assist with loading/unloading and transporting equipment to and from job sites.
Requirements
- Must have a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (FAA Drone Pilot License)
- If you don’t have one yet, you can obtain it after being hired (we’ll help guide you).
- Able to pass a Class 3 FAA Medical Exam
- Must pass a background check
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for long periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors all day in varying weather conditions.
- Detail-oriented and able to follow operational protocols closely.
- We do not allow our employees to drink, smoke, vape or use drugs of any kind.
Preferred Skills
- Previous agricultural, drone, or equipment operation experience.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic drone maintenance.
- Strong communication skills.
Schedule
- Seasonal, full-time position starting in spring 2026.
- Hours and days vary depending on weather, workload, and daylight.
