We are seeking a dynamic leader for our growing Service Center team. This management role requires proven leadership experience with mechanical expertise. Drone specific experience will be trained. The successful candidate will begin in training with the goal to oversee a team of 2 previously technicians with potential for growth as our operations expand. This position combines hands-on technical work with strategic team management, requiring skills in communication, mechanical diagnostics, and workforce coordination. The ideal candidate will be responsible (after training and a time of experience) for managing the diagnosis and repair of large agricultural drones and thermal drones while developing and leading a high-performing technical team. Key Management Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop current team of 2 technicians with plans for expansion
- Workflow Management: Assign work priorities, balance workloads, and ensure efficient service delivery
- Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans
- Training & Development: Onboard new technicians and provide ongoing skills development for team members
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain service quality standards and repair protocols
- Resource Planning: Manage parts inventory, tool requirements, and equipment needs
- Customer Relations: Interface with clients regarding complex repairs and service timelines
- Reporting: Provide management with operational reports, team metrics, and growth recommendations
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements in repair workflows
- Budget Management: Monitor departmental expenses and contribute to budget planning
- Safety Oversight: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with other departments on service delivery and customer satisfaction
Technical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with agricultural and thermal drones (will train)
- Test equipment functionality after repairs using specialized diagnostic tools (will train)
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service documentation
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot challenging technical problems
- Stay current with evolving drone technologies and repair methodologies (will train)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Management Experience: Demonstrated experience leading technical teams (minimum 2-3 years preferred)
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using ohmmeter and other electrical testing equipment (drone specific will be trained)
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for phone and computer-based interactions
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
- Leadership: Ability to motivate, develop, and retain technical talent
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and work processes
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-growing environment with changing priorities
- Independence: Ability to work autonomously while supporting team collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Experience with drone technology or similar electronic systems
- Previous experience in a service center or repair facility environment
- Supervisory experience in a technical field
